GLP-1 medications like Ozempic, Mounjaro, Wegovy, and Saxenda have become one of the biggest conversations in health and weight loss right now.
Every week, I have women asking:
“Should I go on GLP-1?” “Will I gain all the weight back after?” “Can I still do keto and fasting while using it?” “Is this the right decision for me?”
The truth is—GLP-1 is not magic. It is a tool.
And like every tool, the results depend on how you use it.
What Is GLP-1?
GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide-1, a hormone your body naturally produces that helps regulate:
blood sugar
appetite
insulin response
digestion
fullness and satiety
GLP-1 medications work by mimicking this hormone, helping you feel fuller for longer, reducing cravings, slowing digestion, and improving blood sugar control.
This is why many people experience weight loss while using them.
But here’s the part many people miss…
GLP-1 Does Not Teach Habits
The medication may reduce appetite, but it does not teach:
how to eat enough protein
how to preserve muscle
how to balance blood sugar
how to break emotional eating patterns
how to maintain results long-term
how to come off the medication successfully
This is where coaching matters.
Because if the habits do not change, weight regain often happens when the medication stops.
My Approach to GLP-1 Support
I do not believe in “quick fixes.”
I believe in building a body that feels strong, supported, and sustainable.
Whether you are considering GLP-1, currently taking it, or preparing to come off it, my coaching focuses on:
Protein First
One of the biggest mistakes people make on GLP-1 is eating too little protein.
Low appetite can easily lead to muscle loss, fatigue, hair loss, weakness, and a slower metabolism.
Protein becomes non-negotiable.
Real Food Over Restriction
You do not need another extreme diet.
We focus on simple meals, blood sugar balance, and food that actually nourishes your body.
Intermittent Fasting Done Properly
Fasting can work beautifully alongside GLP-1 when done correctly.
Not starvation. Not punishment.
Strategic fasting that supports insulin, digestion, inflammation, and fat loss.
Sustainable Weight Loss
The goal is not just losing weight.
The goal is keeping it off.
That means creating a lifestyle your body can maintain.
Should You Go on GLP-1?
That depends.
For some women especially with insulin resistance, PCOS, pre-diabetes, inflammation, or years of failed dieting it can be incredibly helpful.
For others, it may not be the right path.
The question should never be:
“How fast can I lose weight?”
It should be:
“How do I create results I can actually keep?”
My Honest Opinion
I support women who choose GLP-1.
I also support women who choose not to.
What I do not support is using medication without education.
Because the goal should never be dependency.
The goal should be freedom.
