Soft, pliable, and perfect for wraps or dipping, this low-carb/keto-friendly chapati bread is a delicious alternative to traditional flatbreads. Made with wholesome, low-carb ingredients, it’s grain-free, gluten-free, and easy to make. Enjoy the authentic taste and texture of chapati without compromising your keto goals!

Ingredients (Makes about 4 small chapatis):

•1 cup almond flour (or 1/3 cup coconut flour for a coconut version)

•1/4 cup psyllium husk powder

•1/2 teaspoon baking powder

•1/4 teaspoon salt

•1/2 cup hot water (adjust as needed)

•1 tablespoon olive oil or melted ghee

Instructions:

1.Mix the Dough: In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour (or coconut flour), psyllium husk powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the hot water and oil, mixing until a dough forms. It should be soft but not sticky. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes to allow the psyllium husk to absorb moisture.

2.Divide and Roll:Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Place each portion between two sheets of parchment paper and roll it out into a thin circle (about 6 inches in diameter).

3.Cook: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Peel the top parchment paper off and gently place the rolled chapati onto the skillet. Cook for about 1-2 minutes on each side until golden spots appear. Be careful when flipping as the dough is more delicate than traditional chapati.

4.Serve:Keep warm and serve with keto-friendly dips, curries, or grilled vegetables.

Tips:

•If using coconut flour, note that it absorbs more liquid, so you may need to add an extra tablespoon of water.

•Psyllium husk helps bind the dough and gives the chapati its pliability; do not skip it.

If you don’t have psyllium husk you can use chia seeds.

(Ground or Whole)

Use 1:1 ratio if ground, or soak whole seeds in water to form a gel (1 tablespoon chia seeds + 2.5 tablespoons water). Provides a similar binding effect and works well for structure.
